EXPERIENCE

EDI Programmer Analyst 9/94 - Current UHAUL Inc. Tempe, Arizona

Responsible for all of UHAUL's EDI systems. Maintenance of JCL, COBOL, and IDEAL/DATACOM database programs that interact with EDI system. Using DATA INTERCHANGE software performed the following EDI implementation tasks: Setting up new trading partners, defining application definitions, mapping transaction sets, working with vendors to test and implement EDI.

EDI Manager 4/94 - 8/94 Programmer/Analyst 1/94 - 3/94 BUZZEO Inc. Scottsdale, Arizona From program specifications and analysis of user requests, designed, developed, and implemented new applications using COBOL, and embedded SQL. Designed, normalized, and implemented data structures in both relational database and VAX/RMS environments. Performed all system management tasks including: installation and configuration of many layered software products and hardware components, ensuring system availability. Involved in all aspects of EDI implementation using GENTRAN software including: translation software installation, configuration, mapping transaction sets, designed and developed bridging software to update host databases with the EDI data received.

Systems Engineer 4/92 - 12/93 RADLEY CORPORATION Southfield, Michigan Programmer/Analyst and Systems Management responsibilities include: Maintained RADLEY's EDI software package "CARaS" in VMS and UNIX environments. Design, and development of client server bar-code applications using Intermec IRL language and portable scanners. Conducted UNIX and VMS system software upgrades and installations. Involved in all aspects of EDI implementation including: configuration, mapping transaction sets, designed and developed bridging software to update host databases with the EDI data received. Connected Personal Computers to VAX/VMS networks via Pathworks for VMS and DOS clients.

Systems Engineer 1/91 - 4/92 ELECTRONIC DATA SYSTEMS (EDS) assigned to General Motors Romulus Engine Operation Systems, and Network Management responsibilities included: System administration, maintaining, and diagnosing problems related to 3 Microvax II computer systems. Conducting VMS system software upgrades and installations. Creating and maintaining user accounts. Insuring data integrity and VAX performance levels. Developing and improving operating procedures. Configure VMS security features to monitor and prevent user probing. Upgrading and enhancing current hardware and software configurations, recommending future hardware and software configurations. Developing and maintaining VAX DCL command files which enable users to interface with system level software. Using NCP to configure and control a DECnet-VAX network consisting of two Microvax II computers, two DECserver 200 terminal servers, four DECserver 100 terminal servers and a DECnet/SNA Gateway (DECSA) running on Ethernet protocols. PC Specialist Responsibilities Included: Installing new Personal Computer equipment to meet users needs. Configuring software for optimal performance. Trouble shooting any PC problems that may arise. Recommending future software and hardware configurations. Recommending, installing, and upgrading PCs and PC peripherals. Installing, and configuring Microsoft Windows, and Window applications.

Software Specialist 1/89 - 1/91 RADLEY BUSINESS COMPUTERS West Bloomfield, Michigan Programmer/Analyst and Systems Management responsibilities included: From program specifications and analysis of user requests, programmed, tested and installed new applications in PROGRESS 4th GL, VAX COBOL, and VAX Dibol languages. Modified, enhanced and debugged existing applications in VAX COBOL, VAX Dibol, and VAX Basic languages. Design, normalize, and implement data structures in both relational database and VAX/RMS environments. Developed and maintained VAX DCL command files which enable users to interface with system level software. Maintained user accounts and login procedures, diagnosed and resolved terminal, terminal server and port problems.

Systems Engineer August 1988 - January 1989. GEOMETRIC RESULTS INCORPORATED Assigned to Ford Motor Credit Company. Programmer/Analyst responsibilities include: Programmed applications in Basic-Plus to enhance system development and procedures. Manipulated and debugged software in order to expand current cluster configurations to provide adequate computer resources for branches. Provided software support to accomplish system upgrades, installations and other system modifications. Traveled throughout the US. converting branches from single processing systems into dual processing systems.


MAJOR PROFESSIONAL ACCOMPLISHMENTS
Accomplishments while employed by RADLEY: Without prior training or experience, successfully designed, developed, and implemented a client server radio frequency bar-code network which is used to collect and validate shipping data. This collection system involves multiple scanners, collecting and transmitting data simultaneously to the host. The host software, validates and updates host databases, then responds appropriately to the scanner, providing real-time validation. This data collection system has been well received in both the Chrysler, and General Motors transmission plants in which it runs.

Accomplishments with EDS: Under my direction, REO was the first Powertrain account to successfully pass an EDS VAX corporate internal audit. As a result of the successful audit, I was appointed to Divisional VAX/VMS Security Standards Implementation Team charged in developing procedures that will aid Powertrain plants implement EDS security standards. Appointed Technical Leader of the EDS Romulus Engine Operations Account. Responsibilities include: being a technical resource for other account members, keeping account abreast of EDS/GM technical strategies, keeping current on latest hardware and software. Acting manager of account when Account Manager and Supervisor are absent.
